Partner moves are now far more prevalent than they ever used to be. So, why are so many partners looking to move? The reasons could be one or more of the following:

  • Change of leadership and/or change of direction in your current firm with which you are not happy
  • You are working hard putting in long hours and winning work, but the financial rewards are just not there - yet other partners who do not work as hard and are not ‘rainmakers’ are getting better rewarded
  • You have worked hard as a salaried partner but the door to equity is firmly closed
  • You are not treated as a partner, your opinions are not valued and you want to be in a firm where your voice is heard
  • To work in a firm which provides more back-up and support
  • You find yourself in a firm which is performing badly and you fear for its survival
  • You just want a change with fresh challenges
  • You want to relocate to another part of the country for personal reasons
  • Increasingly, Partners are looking for new positions to improve quality of life and to have a better work/life balance. Whichever reason it is, you need to work with a recruiter who clearly understands your motivations for wishing to move. We work very closely with you to identify suitable firms and opportunities. We will not submit your details to any clients without your express authorisation. Initially (if you wish) we will submit applications on a ‘no name’ basis, so that your confidentiality is maintained. This will enable us to identify firms which are interested in you. We then discuss these firms with you and provide you with further background information about the firm, the particular department you are interested in joining and the opportunity. Your details are then only sent to the firms chosen by you. And, we will do interview prepping with you before you attend any interview.
